When you use our website, certain technical information may also be collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring website, and information collected through cookies or similar technologies.

Event Registration and Ticket Purchases

When you register for or purchase tickets to a Svara Sound event, we may collect information necessary to process your registration, manage attendance, communicate event details, provide customer support, issue refunds when appropriate, and maintain business and accounting records.

Our website may use third-party event and ticketing services, including The Events Calendar and Event Tickets, to manage events and registrations.

Payments

Payments made through our website may be processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe.

Payment processors collect and process the financial information necessary to complete your transaction. Svara Sound generally does not receive or store your full credit or debit card number.

Stripe handles personal and payment data according to its own privacy practices.

Email and Marketing Communications

If you sign up for our mailing list, register for an event, or otherwise request communications from us, we may use your email address to send information such as event confirmations, event updates, reminders, newsletters, announcements, and information about Svara Sound offerings.

We may use email service providers such as Mailchimp or MailerLite to manage mailing lists and communications.

Marketing emails will include a way to unsubscribe. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. Transactional communications relating to a purchase, registration, refund, or event may still be sent when necessary to provide the service you requested.

Mailchimp maintains its own privacy and data-processing practices for information processed through its services.

Cookies and Analytics

Svara Sound may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand how visitors use the site, improve performance, prevent fraud or abuse, and measure the effectiveness of our content and marketing.

Svara Sound Mobile App

This section explains what the Svara Sound app for Android and iPhone does with information. It applies alongside the rest of this policy.

No accounts

Svara Sound doesn’t create user accounts. The app has no sign-up or login, and it doesn’t ask for your email address, phone number, or payment details.

What stays on your phone

The name you enter, your practice journal, your intentions, mood check-ins, favorites, and notification setting are stored only on your device. They aren’t sent to us. If your phone’s own backup is turned on (for example Android backup to your Google account), your device may include this app data in that backup, under your device provider’s terms. Uninstalling the app deletes this data from your phone.

What the app collects automatically

On Android, the app uses Google Firebase services to keep the app working and to improve it:

• Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): which screens and features are used, session information, app version, device model and operating system, a random app-instance identifier, and an approximate (city or region level) location estimated from a masked IP address. We do not collect the advertising ID, and the app shows no ads.
• Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): when the app crashes, technical details such as the error, the app’s state at the time, device information, and a random installation identifier.
• Event notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging): a device token so we can send notifications about upcoming Svara Sound events. You can turn these off in the app (Profile → Event notifications) or in your phone’s settings.
• Event and recording listings: the app downloads our public event calendar and audio from Google Firebase and from svarasound.com. These requests include standard technical information such as your IP address, as with any website.

The iPhone app doesn’t include analytics or crash reporting today. It downloads event listings and audio the same way.

How it’s used

We use this information to deliver event notifications, fix crashes, and understand which practices and features are helpful. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who processes it

Google processes this data for us as a service provider, under the Firebase terms. We don’t share it with anyone else.

Not linked to you

Because there are no accounts, this data is tied only to random identifiers generated by the app. It isn’t linked to your name, email, or phone number, and we can’t look up a particular person’s records. For the same reason, we can’t find and delete one individual’s analytics or crash records on request.

Retention

Records are deleted automatically on a fixed schedule: analytics data after no more than 14 months, and crash reports after 90 days. Notification tokens stop working when you uninstall the app or turn event notifications off, and Google expires unused tokens.

Security

All data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

Your choices

You can turn off event notifications at any time in the app (Profile → Event notifications) or in your phone’s settings. Uninstalling the app stops all further collection and removes everything stored on your phone; records already collected expire on the schedule above.

Children

The app isn’t directed to children under 13.
